Information about the charities

The Charity fabric and Pre order mini panels have been based around my mom, who recently passed away. Mom (Betsy) was the best mom in the world and she gave me the gift on how to sew. Mom died of Encephalitis, which is inflammation of the brain. Mom was in hospital for 6 weeks fighting for her life but moms body couldn't fight it and on the 12th May 2024 sadly mom passed away.

We as a family hadn't even heard of this illness and after reading about it on the internet its a rare illness. They say a small percentage survive and that's if the body is up to it.

We at RJAFMAKES HQ want to raise money for Encephalitis International to help with research for this horrible illness.

So every year I will be designing a one off fabric/ mini panel design which will support two charities, you guested the first charity, Encephalitis International and then the second charity will change yearly depending on the theme of the fabric. So our second charity we are supporting for 2024 is RSPB. Mom was a lover of birds she would name and watch them everyday. This is where my love of birds come from to, as we used to sit hours watching the birds in the garden and mom would name them all.

Each Charity fabric/ panel listing will say how much of your money will be donated to the charities.

When ordering this fabric as pre order, you will be waiting approx 6-8 weeks before we receive the fabric and it is sent out to you. If the fabric is here sooner we will ship out as soon as we have cut your fabric for your order.

If you are ordering other stuff which is showing in stock and you have paid for the order, your order will be on hold until the pre order fabric has arrived, then everything will be shipped out together. If you are wanting the in stock items faster and are happy to wait for the pre order, email use at hellorjafmakes@gmail.com with your order number and we will charge for a second postage charge. Then we will send out what we have in stock at that time. Then your pre order items will follow in due cause.

This is 100% cotton Quilters weight Cotton

Fabric is sold by the Half Metre

Width of fabric 56 inches (143 cm)

Single quantities will be cut as half a metre which measures 20" x 56" (approx)

If more than one is ordered, you will receive a continuous length for example 3 units is 1.5 metres and will come as one length

So every unit sold of this fabric, £4 will be donated over the two charities, they will get £2 each from each unit sold.

The charity fundraising doesn't stop there, we have done (just for the one charity which was encephalitis international) a raffle over in Fred's Gang on line sewing school. We are also for the opening week we dropping the price of the RJAFMAKES paper patterns and donating £1.50 of each pattern and this will be split over the 2 charities. There will be a pre order of a mini panel with the same theme as this fabric where £2 of each mini panel will be donated and split over the 2 charities. The last thing that will happen over any sale made with any of these products on and the person buying leaves a tip when checking out, that tip will go toward the final total of the charities.
